"Shipping-Venice" by Ernest D. Roth, (Amer., 1879-1964) Featured An earlier state impression of1924, re etched 1941, 10 15 16 x 14 5 8, not in A. E., signed, titled & dated in pencil, on thick, cream laid paper. A complex and dynamic later Venetian subject, with much intricate detail in the rendering of the many boats at their moorings and distant buildings along the canal. This striking Venice subject is one of the artist's largest etchings and is not often seen.
