Interestingly, maple blocks are not a new concept, in fact it was a preferred method for storing maple syrup back in the 1800s. By boiling maple syrup to further concentrate the sugars early syrup makers were able to convert maple into a product that was more shelf stable and easier to transport. We produce our modern maple blocks using the same maple syrup we hand
