Perrier Jouet, Belle Epoque Vintage:1996Perrier Jout Belle Epoque 2008 reminds me somewhat of the grace of the exceptional 1995, Cellarmaster Herv Deschamps first solo vintage and still one of his best. Though the two vintages 13 years apart share the same grace and class, the 2008 is more mineral, reflecting a quite sunless summer season. Only the return of warmer weather at the start of September imbued the vintage with a freshness of great Chardonnay in tune with the subtly restrained

Transparent and a little bit tart

It was a pleasure to spend two or three hours in the company of Eduardo Chadwick at his estate and undertake verticals of his wines

plum liqueur dark currant

finishing long and mineral laced

The 2015 Guidalberto is a delicious

citrus confit and subtle spice wisps

Seems already a little developed

and this was the most expressive bottle that I've drunk to date

in the (rightly named) Unico method (72 months’ oak)

delineated and sneaky long finish that flashes outstanding depth

The 2010 du Tertre soars out of the glass with blackberry
