The inner layers are made from recycled paper, possibly older ledgers or documents. This shows how materials were reused with care in the Meiji period. This two slot together to form one big bag. We were not able to translate it accurately, but we believe it is the name of the company or shop that distributed such bags. Originally, they would have been used to hold
It has kept its authentic beauty through the deep red paintwork
The size of this item is 89cm by 81cm framed
Due to the age of this piece some of the paint has peeled
